“Coasting toward Zerbal Life Evangelism”

Sometimes it seems we are “coasting” toward sharing the faith.  “If the opportunity presents itself,” we say, “I will always be ready to give a reason for the hope…”  Whatever happened to intentionality?

That’s where our new campus vehicle, the Coaster Bus, comes in! (Coasters are 24-seaters in Zambia, made by Toyota).  This is a Bus on a Mission!

  • 12 outdoor evangelism events in 2021!
  • Targeting very needy communities!
  • Twenty students! Musicians, personal workers, preachers.
  • PA and lighting equipment, gospel literature —
  • This Coaster is designed to bless a community with a full week-end of gospel outreach!

Trachsel Mulilo, our Missions Coordinator, says this: “Outdoor Crusade evangelism is so important.  When I first came under the sound of the gospel as a teenager, I was in a very remote village. The music, the message, the invitation — it was my moment of truth! Receiving Jesus that night completely transformed my life.  I found my way to the city, joined Pastor Musakanya’s church, and grew in my life with the Lord.  Now music and ministry is my life!  And I love to take the gospel back to those communities of lost souls where I used to live!”

When the doors of the Church of England closed to John Wesley in 1740 — much like many church doors in these Covid19 days! — he mounted a podium (or stood on a tombstone!) and began to preach to the miners of Bristol!  Before long he was preaching to 5,000 at a time and saying, “The world is my parish.”  By the time of his death in 1793, the Methodist Church was already springing to life — all from outdoor preaching!

Importing a Coaster costs about $14,000 U.S. dollars.  An infusion via the Zerbal Life Offering will get those wheels on campus by January!
